Default greg 454 with imco powerflow

Greg just water tested this lavey craft xtski with a 454 mag and imco powerflow exhaust. Just need to confirm some #'s with you

    1 The stock 454 mag 385hp should run a 24 4blade @5k????

2 The Imco exhaust should add 40to 50HP with an incraese of 200 to 400 RPM'S????

3 Current owner has the 22 4 blade very responsive out of the hole but at WOT hits the rev limiter per current owner we tested it on puddingstone speed limited to 35mph. So no wot run could be made lake Fuzz was in force

4Jim Wilkes labbed a 26 4 blade for the current owner and he reported 5100 RPM wot @ 76mph but says the boat is not fuel economy friendly and takes more time to get on plane with more than two people aboard. Boat has 225 HR's per the current owner

We made an offer pending what I can find out on the prop deal . So I am asking you this because iI could not find this info in any of my old HOT BOAT MAGAZINES BTW super clean boat like I would keep it 19k

    Thanks Greg

    Mark

    Hi Greg

Went and looked at another lavey stx 21 454 emi exhaust. Current owner has a labbed finished 24 4 blade he stated that the motor will hit the rev limiter @5150 RPM's with 2 people aboard and 25 galons of fuel. He told me with the 24 it jumps out of the hole.

So with all this in mind. We are not professional water skiers by any means every once in a while i will ski with a single ski mostly tubing Can the 24 prop be tweaked to a 25 which should bring down the rpm's by about 200 for upsizing the prop. Is that correct? If so what does something like that cost. I think the 26 will be to big of a prop. I think the 25 would work very good with just the wife I

I have a feeling that it will tack at about 5k which is good for me thats where mercury wants WOT on that motor anyway. If we do laod 4 more in the boat Is it safe to say I will be running @ about 200 to 300 less rpms with various weight in the boat which puts me in the 47 to 48k range on RPM. Is 4700 rpm's a little low mercury wants it between 4800-5000 Rpm. Is it hard on the motor to run 4700 Rpm or is that ok.

    Thanks

    mark .
