Hey, i'm thinking about going around the deck of my 66 Continental with some two-part epoxy to help seal it off from water if the paint were to crack, and to give it a nice small radius. The deck mate appears to be in pretty good shape but i do notice some very tiny little gaps.. impossible to see in passing but thats just me. Just curious if the epoxy might be too hard and crack out in time. This is a VERY heavy, thick and solid hull, similar to the mandella so i don't anticipate too much flexing like my dad's Cole. However, i know just because i don't feel it doesn't mean its not happening. I plan on doing a two stage paint job with a considerable amount of clear. Will these multiple layers of coatings suffice???
I Have already done a little spot job as seen in the last two pictures. It radiused out nice but i just don't know about the durability. Any help or suggestions would help!!!
PS my brother Drew posted some pics of her in all her glory in the Pics and Vids section.....pg 15.
Never used an epoxy as a filler but if you have had good luck in the past I see no reason why it cannot be used in this case. Remember if this area has any movement it will crack easily and will show right thru the paint so use it spareingly
