Default How to grease calgo steering cables ,tips?

Hi Greg, what is the best grease and the easiest way to lube calgo steering cables? I did it once and it took quite a bit of time and effort. I'm getting ready to do a little maintenance, just looking to see if there is an easier way. Thanks for your help.

When you first install the system we take a hand full of grease and slide the cable into the housing so the entire cable system is greased. I think the only effective way to grease would be be to repeat the process. If you have cut the cable ends and they are frayed I would not pull the sheathing off or you will never get the cable back into the sheathing. While I answering I was thinking maybe you could elevate the cable and housing and us some sort of pennatrating oil and let it set for awhile and see if that will free it up.

Hi Greg, this is a was a new calgo ( norm grimes) system last year, I used wheel bearing grease and it was tough to grease and slide the cable into the black jacket. I was told that these have to be really well greased for them to last, it just seemed like i couldn't get enough grease on the cable for the length I had to go.

Was thinking maybe redline synthetic grease would be a better choice since its a little less viscous, and could coat cables better. Thoughts? Thanks again!
