Default Replacing the throttle cable issue?

I am trying to replace the throttle and am having an issue getting the old one off. where it attaches to the foot peddle I have removed the nut in the red circle (am i suppose to do that?) or does it just pop off the cable? Then there is a screw (allan wrench) where it enters the foot peddle that is rusted on ( i would assume that i just need to loosen that?). Do i need to remove both to disconnect it from the foot peddle?

Next- where the cable attached to the throttle am i just suppose to remove the nut or is it suppose to just pop out?

Your problem is you're too sober....It can only be done drunk.

THere's a collar on mine that slides to allow you to pop the cable off the ball nut at the carb.

Try depressing the foot throttle as well.. Might give you better access.

Yours doesnt appear to be the kind that pops apart. You will have to take a small wrench and unscrew the ball from the lever, then break the jam nut loose from the joint and remove everthing from the end of the cable. Loosen the set screw and it will slide right out.
If your having a hard time breaking that set screw loose try using a propane touch to add a little heat to the surrounding aluminum, it will come out much easier.
