Default How hard is it to change a shifter?

My old throttle is looking kind of ragged...the shifter feels sloppy, and then I saw this:

Thought it might be a nice upgrade!

Just wondering how hard the install is.

Those look like they were designed for a stern drive or OB, the control may of may not have the correct throw for the reverse gate on the jet. I'm sure it could be made to work but may require some modification for proper adjustment. Also make sure it is for the proper side of the boat, i.e. left hand or right hand side.

It would be nice to have the trim button right on the lever like that, (if you have a hyraulic trim that is).

I don't know if these would work for a jet. I saw them in the Overtons catalogue last year. They were 329.00. In the new catalogue they're $100.00 more! I was gonna put one on my boat this week till I saw the price increase. <br>Eddie Marine has a billet one that might work for your jet.

Livorsi makes a similar one that will work on a jet also Livorsi Marine, Inc. - Side Mount Controls, any of these are pricey however, but they sure are nice looking.

It you really want a top shelf shifter consider the Dana Billet side mount. I can get you a good deal on one if interested. Cheap, no. The best out there,,, yes.

Rex, That is well out of my price range, but nice for sure.

I am a little annoyed, I have some Amazon credits and was all set to buy one of these when the price literally jumped overnight from $279 to $349. This was definitely a vanity project as the one I have now is perfectly serviceable. It is the same principle though, where the throttle would normally be engaging the forward/reverse on a prop job, it moved the bucket instead. Kind of surprised I haven't seen this on more jets.
