    Default need alternator mounting help

I just picked up a single wire delco alternator and now im lost as to what type of bracket i need to get. Im being told that due to the early 70s vintage of the BBC, the alternator will need to be mounted low and to the side. Does anyone have any insight as to what exactly i need and where i could possibly find it in the Sacramento area? I found a couple of things online that look like they may work but they are around $150. Is there anything out there a little cheaper or am i stuck in that price range? Also the block came from a v-drive and it does have a water pump on it. I can get rid of the pump if need be. Here is a pic of what the block looks like right now. Click image for larger version.

If you do a search...I bet you will find a few threads. I think I got my upper bracket from cp performance.....had to cut a piece of tube with a tubing cutter. The bottom mounts onto the plate. Some of the guys have some trick setups off the dl....and some use turnbuckles for the adjustment. Personally I would ditch the v-drive water pump...one less thing to blow up. Its alot of fun fishing all those veins out of your motor when they let go. Here is a pic of my junk to give ya an idea.

If you look on the top (right in the pic) of your front plate you will see the mounting boss intended for the alternator. From there all you needs is a simple adjusting arm for the top of the alternator. That should put your delco inline with most single groove pulleys.

And toss the v-drive water pump, or better sell it for more jet parts.

Not the best example but you get the idea.

I just picked up a low mount alt bracket for my SBC off ebay for under 20.00. I've used this same bracket on many SBC's and assume it would work on a BBC depending on your front mounting brackets.

Couldn't find anything locally for less than $140 for the bracket and pulley so I just went with it. Looks good though so I'm not complaining. Thanks for the help guys. Here's what I ended up with.
