Idk that thing looks pretty nice as it is but if you have a different vision for it then go like hell. lol Are you thinking you want to cap too it when you paint it or just looking to update the colors?

I would like to redo the whole paint job because it has some chips in the paint and the back drivers side corner needs a little work. I was just wanting to know how to start the process of painting, sanding ect.

first thing you need to decide is if you start it are you going to finish it???!!! Are you going to do it your self or are you going to pay someone to do it? Whats your budget and exp? Fun to do for sure but all things to consider, experience isnt a must. Plenty of knowledge to be found around here. Goood Luck

Nice boat, your Hurst is only the second one I have seen other than my own. From what I can tell, they were manufactured one year only in 1978. From what I have read on the form, it appears that the Hurst is a Rogers splash or copy.

I purchased mine last year as a project, and replaced all the wood and painted the boat and trailer using acrylic urethane automotive paints. I am not sure if yours is still factory gel coat or if it has been painted. I haven't had mine in the water yet, still need to install the engine, wiring, gauges, and upholstery. How do you like your boat? Does it ride and perform well? Here is a pic of mine.
