    Default rogers question

I am looking at a 17' (16' 6") rogers. what is the difference between the 17' and 18' besides length? do they handle the same? Stringer still 3/4?

    Thanks for any help?

There are three different 18 foot Rogers, the Cyclone ( has a flat deck and deep v hull and is actually shorter than 18 feet long), the Super Cyclone (flat deck but with a faster shallow v bottom) and the Bonneville ( same shallow v bottom as the Super Cyclone but with a bubble deck instead of the flat deck).

Before the 18' Cyclone there was a 16' cyclone That may be the one you are thinking about. Jeff Bennett was given one once we were going to build it with a small block for a little river boat but before we could, the chain used to lock it to a telephone pole behind the shop was cut and the boat disappeared. Always wanted to know what happened to that little guy.

I can't remember but knowing Rodger, who never made a weak boat, I bet it had full stringers.

Thanks again rigger. So the 16' 6" boats with Rogers name on them could be left overs of his dads? Did I read that right?

I don't know the specifics of the model in this picture but it is less than 17', it's a 1971 and if I remember correctly it has no stringers?

I went and looked at that one. it had 1/4 stringers but was wondering if it was changed in later years. that boat was clean but couldnt pay $4000 for something i didnt know ran, needed new fwd/reverse cable, interior was falling apart, and trailer had been jack knifed.

HAHAHA that's exactly what I was told when I first looked at my Rogers! The Berk in mine ended up being garbage inside. The boat was such a great deal that I didn't really care though.
