    Smile Gear vs chain timming belt ford 460

    which one has the advantage, trying to decide which one to buy. any help?

    I have a gear setup I'll sell if you want it. I took it off a motor I got in a trade. I'll have to look at it to see what kind it is.make an offer.

    get the gear the timing chain will strech over time. Get a pete jackson gear drive you get what you pay for. They built blowers back in the day and the gear drive is made for strictly business

    The 565" has an old SVO (Ford Motorsport) double roller with a billet gear set. It hasn't stretched 1 bit. I doubt that any good double roller will.

    The 565 makes more than enough power, rev's to 6,200 off the bottle and 6,800-7,000 on the button. I really can't think of a reason to change to a gear drive.

    BBF's have a bad rep with gear sets for vibration problems, stick with the SVO chain or spend the big bucks and go with a Danny Bee belt setup.

    no probs with my comp cams double roller. we have a gear drive in our race car and its too noisy
