Default Motor tries to die after a WOT pass.

Every now and then after making a hard pass the motor tries to die. I have to pump the pedal a little to keep it running. It's a 1050 on a bbc. Would this be a float adjustment?

Read your plugs, sounds lean, also not very safe in a jet, depenging on hull you could get pitched out if it does die. Do you have any other probs anywhere else in carb at other times, hesitation or surge ?

as was already said...check the fuel pressure and float levels...it sounds like you are draining the bowls.

Everything else is fine, no hesitation. Fuel pressure is @ 8 pounds. I'll try raising the floats a little and see how it likes that. Thanks, Dan

when you let of,f the fuel maybe sloshing to the front of the tank, causing it to suck a little air

Is this at the top of the pass while still on the throttle ? or on decel? and 8 psi ?

As I said before needle size is important. I run 130s in my 4150 and 150s in my 4500 and they are stainless. The standard Viaton ones are wselling in todays pump gas, this causes them to let less fuel into the bowls. BTW - we have E-15 at the pump some stations have E-10 in all three grades 85,87,91.

Try adding jet extensions in the rear bowl.

Very doubtful it would be the same problem but mine would die completely after a WOT pass then fire right back up.
Turned out the BG electric pump by pass return was plumbed above the port side pickup. The by pass was cavitating at the pickup and the electric pump was losing it's prime. It took me awhile to figure that one out.

I'm sure my carbs will be bolt on ready when I get them back. Thanks Piston Maker, your dad rock's.
