Default Needing info on 20' Eliminator Scorpion

My search for a 21' Daytona or Liberator or something similiar led me to a 20' Scorpion. I know nothing about them and can't find much on the net about them either.

Are they comparable to other 20'-21' boats?
Are they an in between of the 19' and 21' Daytonas?
Is there a reason this model was short lived?
Do these boats have a shallow freeboard?

My goal is to have a 4 seater lake rod.

I have one, and have a close friend that has one.... They run kind of wet in stock form, and anything over mid 90's mph wise from what I read, it will need bottom work to get there. Mine is about an 80mph boat, and my buddies GPS's either 94 or 96mph. Both heavy layup lake boats. Anything specific you wanna know?

Same as Advantage Banshee. Seen a couple over the years that run well. They don't work as well as a Daytona..... but with the ''Right" work done they are nice! And I think they look cool as hell

Mine is an Advantage Banshee... Are you guys talking about the Red one on CL? If so, I don't know the boat, but would be more than happy to go look at it for you and take/text pics

Yes, the red one over in LR. He sent me a dozen or so pics. I just don't know anything about them and don't want to screw up by jumping the gun. I don't want to have to work a boat to make it right. I just wanna ride. Having said that, I'm not trying to set any speed records. I need a durable hull that will take some rough water and a couple large chested bikini women.

What about the interior size? Similiar to a 21'?

I own a Scorpion and I really love my boat. It is a very solid riding boat. Its. Heavy Layup as well. 850 lbs bare hull. I heard lots of stories about how bad they rode and anything over 85mph they porpoused really bad. My boat has had some bottom work done to it to change the center keel a bit so it would have a good riding surface sense these hulls were originally designed for an outboard and they have a step cut in the keel. Jet pump hardwear is a big key to how this boat handles also. You will need to set it up with a shoe and ride plate. I'm running a 540ci BBC in it and have gps'd 101mph with it and it takes a nice solid set and shuts down nice with no issues. There is a lot of room for 4 people if that's what you want to do. The inside width is about 50" if I remember correctly with out measuring it.

    Here are a couple pics

Mine handles great, rides like a Cadillac, has LOTS of interior room, and is overall a great lake boat. You could do jumping jacks on the bow of it if you wanted too. Very solid boat. I'm not sure exactly how fast mine runs, but whatever it will do, you can reach up and turn the key off and it just slows down straight. If you want a unique lake boat that'll run 80 or 90 without too much trouble, then I'd say do it. The one you are looking at, I would bet will GPS in the mid 90's as it is. My buddies boat has a Brodix headed 475 BBC in it on pump gas with a tunnel ram and runs in the mid 90's.

Greg Shoemaker is a great resource for parts, and setup details on them. He used to race them.

How does this boat compare to a 21'? That is my main concern. Basically is it worth the difference?

One thing is for sure cj222 has one bad ass looking boat!

    Might have one soon myself.
