    Default Wedge

For max speed I have to have the place diverter at near its max angle upward causing the water to redirect (loss of efficency). Would putting in a bowl wedge make any difference in top speed by allowing the diverter to be straighter?

I don't think throwing a rooster tail will create maximum speed.

Maybe you could benefit from a wedge or a droop to lower thrust.

My boat makes max speed with the bow trimmed up. The small rooster is a secondary effect

    Small rooster?

More details on the setup please...... Shoe? Loader? Droop (none, full, half)?

If my boat is trimmed all the way up, it makes a lot more than a small rooster!

1 degree backcut w/ MPD loader and droop. I would think the same rule would apply regardless of setup though. Will water bending through a maxed out (angle) place diverter perform worse than one that is closer to being straight?

We have a local guy here with a 19' daytona. He is running like 106 with a pump gas scott schaffrof 565 and a 175 shot. he has to trim his daytona all the way up to get the most mph and ET. kinda weird especially at the track seein him shoot a full roost, but thats where it likes it. i am sure he could benefit from hardware changes, but who would want to with a weekend warrior, pump gas motor.

Theoretically you are better off using the wedge to determine exit angle and run with the divertor in a neutral position. You know, lower velocity there than at the nozzel so less fluid loss. Like I said, "thoretically". Wedges are pretty cheap and easy to change. Every boat reacts different. Buy a couple and experiment.

Looking at Yardsale's picture that is 2* down wedge! JMO! I have looked at a few setups on tunnel boats and it seem that alot of them work well with a stright exit! Maybe a Place Diverter short droop with the 3.5-4.0* pin would work best! Because a full droop has a 7* pin and with a 2* down wedge would end up at 5* total before the Place Diverter! I have also seen a HTP Snoot work well on tunnels too! But as I said was just my opinion! Good luck!

with my daytona if it is all the way trimed up an throwing a nar rooster tail the boat slows down alot
so i have a diverter stop were the boat gets the most speed out of it . just sharing what i have learned so far with my boat
