For racing it is supposed to kill the fuel pump and the ignition. I wired mine in line between the hot feed and the fuel and ignition switch.

My msd box is on the other side of the boat, not a very clean run. I figured the coil would be the next best thing. There is a white and a black wire coming from the kill, is one a ground ? Not sure that it needs a ground, just needs to complete the circuit, I thought ?? What are you doing w/ the other wire ?

Wayne, use the kill switch to kill your ignition box only. Not sure what box you have (7al I think) but there is a wire or terminal to turn the box on and off, thats where you want to go from the kill switch. You dont need large guage wire or anything, its just to turn it on and off. The MSD gets its juice from the battery not from the wire off the kill switch.

It does not matter which wires you use off the kill switch (black/white). Hook one to 12 volts and the other goes to the ignition box. Make sure you got the right kill switch, a magneto kill works differently. RCB got the wrong one shipped to him and was pulling his hair out trying to figure out what was wrong. If you have a magneto kill the boat wont fire with the cap on but will fire if you pull it off (backwards).

Ok, that is what i want. When you say inline, did you use a connector that allows you to share power, like on trailers, or for gas tank grounds ?? Or did you stuff two wires into one connector like running power to gauges ??

Ok, then the other wire goes to the power supply of the fuel pump ? Yep its a 7al box, thanks for clarifying.

no, fuel system does not need to be part of the kill switch.

one wire off the kill switch goes to a good 12 volt source, either your key or ignition on/off switch on the dash, other wire goes to ignition box (terminal labeled IGN on 7al3)

No problem, make sure all connections are good and the kill switch is away from your legs, etc., dont want that box turning off at 100 plus.

I have an mag kill switch hooked to the white wire of the msd 6 al box and the other to ground. Not sure if it's the same with the 7 series ignition boxes.

So your sending a ground to the white wire when the cap pops off, never heard of wiring one that way but whatever works. In some cases you need that white wire for something else, for example a digital retard.
