It made 1 thump, so you are going to tear it down? If you are going to try to blow up an engine you think is old and abused....at least follow through and blow that crap up! 1 thump doesn't mean jack! I wanna see windows in the side of that thing! Take pictures.....

Oh, btw, sounds like maybe you got shafted, however it also sounds like engines aren't exactly your thing.....so....

I try to stay away from work trades that both need to be finished. I want to see complete parts or engines that I'm trading the work for. Only one side should be "to be done" work. At least that's just me.

It has a blower? Or it's trashed?
Did you specify what you wanted in the engine? During the trade conversation ?

Any idea what caused the failure? Did you pull it apart yet? Had one torn down from a "reputable" shop that had two rods in backwards once

So far.. Push rods are different as in a few from another motor. Two rods are too... I found where the motor came from too.. Out of a 72 impala. Totally stock and with a ton of miles all that was done was he Put new bearings and some pretty crap on the outside.. So I'm going to start from scratch! Im thinking use the 402 block still flat top pistons and L29 heads. What do you think? And sorry.. Just really not a happy guy.. That was a lot of work painting that boat for nothing at all!!
