so looking at the place site they offer a small and large rudder for their product. is there any reason to not want a large one, aside from it costs slightly more. would some boats benefit from some increased steering but not a lot?

reason i ask is because my pile is a bitc# to keep going in some manner aside from crazy in the no wake zone. i feel that before i installed it the standard rudder that was on my setup would carve the slow water in a very predictable manner and would like that back.

does anyone have a large or even a small used one that will fit the place i could buy or borrow? i have two factory aluminum and one plastic rudders i cant seem to come up with a way to mod to fit my application

thanks
Joe

thats exactly what im looking for. i didnt know how to describe it as well. "chasing the tail" is perfect. i had a trip planned out to take mom out for mothers day but engine failure pushed it back until yesterday. i dont really have an issue with it buy my mom took the wheel a bit yesterday and she couldnt for the life of her keep the boat even remotely in one direction. at some points we were actually turned around the wrong way. it was all fun and games until the only time she found straight was aimed at the rocks.

if (when) i upgrade to a droop could i just cut some off the large rudder if it cuts too hard?

no droops? huh.

The large rudder is designed to improve low speed manuverability and control. This should not be used with droop snoots. This size works great on 19' boats and greater. Available in white, black or polished.
Add this on to any Place Diverter just by drilling 2 1/4" holes on the bottom of your Place Diverter..Newer Diverters are pre-drilled for rudders,so just romove the pin and bolt up.Its that easy..

thanks blue boat. found my pin and bolted it on. fits perfect. check is already at the post office for delivery to you.

the bolts that came in my place were in there pretty tight, but as they were removed i see no signs of thread locker on them. should i put some on when reinstalling them? also they only engage about half way into the nozzle. should i replace the standard equipment bolts with some longer SS hardware?

I would for sure use some lock tight and your bolts should be close to flush from the inside of the nozzle I think you use the blue not the red if I remember right on the colors and your welcome im sorry I didnt get a chance to re-polish it like I said I would .The jop I was doing get bigger and I had to work longer to get it done.
