Default There's no minute like the last minute..........

Got home from a much needed vacation and have lots of work to do to get to the river this weekend:

Boat is back from West Coast Custom Marine....thanks Danny the work looks great:

the pump is back from The Bostick: I had it powder coated, so while it was a-part Bostick got parts from CS 19 and freshened it up.

Headers back from Tiki ( Jeff ) at Embee: They look great.....

Oil pump from Paul Kane: Installed and ready to pump some oil.

Now I just need to bolt it all together to get to the river.......

Ain't no minute like the last minute....

This thread is useless without charts, graphs, and perhaps a formula or two!

    Cool

    Everything looks great, Sleeper.

Remember to prime the engine on the stand so as to evaluate oil pressure prior to installing into the boat; the adjustable pressure setting on the Stage 2 pump should be close but we won't know exactly how close until it is moving oil in the actual engine in which the pump/pickup is used.

    ^^

    Hi Paul,

    I'll prime it today.

    Fyi:

Edit: Mock up ..... made adjustment to tabs... came in at 1/2" plus gasket after a little tweak.

    Cool

0.750"? Well that's more than necessary. Is that with the pan gasket and the pan tightened into place?

As I recall, the Stage 2 Kit left here set up at 0.250" w/o pan gasket (I don't remember exactly, you and I talked about it on the phone), and we fabbed it up on a D1VE block. Your other pump/pickup combo that came out of your A460-blocked engine fit that D1VE block perfectly, so the Stage 2 kit should lateral back over to your block without any dimensional issue.

And I would think that the pan rail plane is the same on both block types. I'm stumped on this one, and I apologize if we're off. I don't believe shipping could possibly tweak that pickup. Please call to discuss, I'm going to be off the computer for the afternoon.

All good Paul...... that was my first mock-up... Cell phone battery died so I don't have a pic of the final. Made adjustment at the two hold down tabs and got it to 1/2" without gasket.

All good my friend all good.
