Default what's my best next mod?

Ok new motor finally runs great( thanks for everyones help with that), no oil leaks, water leaks and gps'd at 70 mph. What would be the next mod for more speed? The pump is a 12jc with an A impeller. Completly stock. Motor made just over 500 hp at 5800 rpm. With the A impeller it's turning around 4800 rpm.

Sky is the limit! I would start experimenting with your hardware you will be amazed what little adjustments can do to your boat. Baby steps though you don't want to get wet.

sound like your rpm is too low to get all the hp . what was your hp at 4800?.

It sounds like it is time to think about the impeller size! I have a bud that his motor makes 551 HP @ 5800 and he is turning a B impellor 5600 RPM! FWIW!

I would start by getting a Place Diverter. Then you will be able to adjust the attitude of the boat. Never knew what I was missing, until I got one.

yup your next step should be the addition of a diverter.

Probably want to get a loader if you don't already have one also. I picked up a couple mph with the diverter and I've been told I'll get another couple out of a loader once I get one. Loader is cheaper than diverter.

This is the chart that I use on checking an impeller to HP! Freeing up the motor and making it pull it's power will help! A diverter will help alot but will not get the most out of the motor! JMO!

Blueprint jet drive, slightly smaller impeller, place diverter and some sort of a loader if you dont have already, thats a start.

And if I did change impeller to a B, I guess I could turn the motor higher rpm but does that mean more speed? Or just higher rpm on motor and less thrust?
