So I've had my 76 Sanger with a mild built 455 and a berk pump and today at the lake I got a nice knocking out of the bottom end and she locked up on me... I knew it was eventually coming and want to go with a bbc just not sure what's the best cubic inch to go with. I had a buddy with a 427 on a eliminator that ran great and could run at a high rpm all day... I like to run my boat hard so just trying to find the best solution so I have a minimal amount of problems thanks for any input
Go with as much CI as you can afford. Identify how hard you want to run it and build it accordingly. Have a plan or find a reputable builder to help you come up with build plan. If you build it right, there's really no reason for it to break regardless of size.
