Here's the setup...
Solid full roller
Dart 360 heads
Sea level-95* humidity 75-95%
6# spins stainless A to 5600 82 mph
Used to be able to get 100LL and it's setup was (with pulley swap)
12# and 6200
So, question is...
Would you rather be able to bury the throttle and make roughly 550hp on current setup and feel engine safe...
Swap pulleys and be more conservative on the throttle, but be able to potentially hit 5800-5900 on 93, but risk detonation or meltdown? this choice basically puts the engine at full boost at 15.4:1
I know the answer. I will most likely keep it in safe mode until I return to 100LL, but do others ever push it and with what results?
Without knowing the cam specs, I would say you are there now. Anything more is a crap shoot, and one questionable batch of gas and you building a motor. You can't put enough umph into that thing to make a difference without melting ot for sure. 1 additional lb is nothing. 4lb and you'll hammer it to death, guaranteed.
The heads are WAAAAAY big, and are only adding to the problem. It is what it is. Deal with it.
