    Default Need some help Guys

    I'm having trouble finding a throttle cable bracket for the this engine .. I really don't wonna do it like I did my lake boat so i've been lookin for something I can mount for a more secure hold for the bracket/cable .. Heres what I have!! Eddy victor ram, QF 750(sideways of course), The Hard SS fuel lines with a SS fuel log .. Basically the same setup i'm running on this engine, I'd just like to do my throttle cable bracket different for the race boat.

    I had to fab up a bracket that mounted to the bottom of the intake for the lake boat and thats fine but after a few WOT passes it gets alittle loose and I have to tighten it .. I need something solid for the race boat .. Just lookin for some ideas and some pics that some of you guys are usein

    Thanks

    Mike, Take a pic between the carbs so I can see what room you have there! This setup I had worked between the carbs if you have the room! It mounted to the two intake top plate bolts not to the carb base mounts!

    SOMEONE SAID YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU! SO,IM BURNING IT UP ONE GALLON AT A TIME!

    My Ford had a homemade bracket from the intake to the bolt on the tunnel ram (that bolted down the tunnel ram top) with the cable holder bolted to it.

    You have something against this arrangement? I know tons of people that run this setup with zero issues.

    I have the linkage, I'd just really like to keep everything on the top if possible.

    GN that is the way I have my lake boat rigged but would like to do something different/cleaner on this setup. And if I did it like that, I'd still have to fab up something to mount the throttle cable to.

    Default Carb Linkage

    Go down to the eight row of pictures on this page and you can see some different linkage set ups that have worked very well for us;

    MIke, you don't need all that linkage on the side...just run the cable direct to one carb. Mount the cable bracket between the carbs on the top. The carbs are connected by the linkage...open one carb, they both open. You can kinda see what I mean in this pic...I'll see if I can find a better one.

    This is really the only way to do linkage on sideways mounted carbs that looks clean. Steels method cleans up the linkage, but unless the motor is under a hatch, most don't want the cable coming in from the side. As always, YMMV....
