    Default Bowl seal????

Any one have a PN for a seal that fits better than the Berc seal? Napa 13534 seal works on the thrust brg cap.

Automotive seals will substitute in some cases but typically are steel and will rust in a marine environment

Believe I have it in a CR number > I'll check my box # when I get home.
I pack the back of the seal with White Grease...in a water environment it works well to keep the "automotive type' seal alive and well.

JBP, understand but if the seal keeps falling out of the bowl its like as not having one at all. Pulled the bowl off a JG last night and the seal was still on the shaft. Looked great but fits real loose. 2nd time I seen this. Have seen rubber coated ones with a bit more OD but neglected to write down the number.

    Thanks Hammer.

My AT bowl has a snap ring but the berc bowl just did not retain the seal.

Sounds like the seal bowl bore is enlarged or damaged for some reason ? I'd give some thought to thorughly cleaning the seal and that area and cementing it in place with permatex right stuff or similar

    Waterslinger...this is what's in my Berk 12JG
The Berk Bowl shaft seal is a Federal Mogul #471652
The Thrust Bearing front cap cover is a FM#450867
And I'm 99% sure the seal behind the thrust bearing is FM#470334

NEVER any issues running the automotive seals
