Default Mini Jet build 1980 C jet with 700cc motor and mini berk 6j

So instead of highjacking lilwake's thread i decided to do some pics of my build on this thread

This is the boat when i brought it home

Had to cut it apart to cut out the rot

Fixing some holes and cracks inthe bottom

I tried to get creative with my work space but this was more trouble than it was worth

fitting the top to the bottom

    glassing the pieces together

building the template for the window

a little bit of block sanding

    first motor test fit

found this gas tank that almost fits. just got to trim it up a little bit

    front view

i put two shelves on both sides of the bilge to mount things to

and that is where she sits now. hope to fit that gas tank this weekend and throw a coat of gelcoat down on the inside

Such a cool boat! I dig the hull design! I can't wait to see it all done. I swear I read on Lil wakes thread that you're going to do a wrap on it after paint???? What kind of wrap are you gonna do??? I have a half wrap on my dodge pickup and i love it! I plan on wrapping my mini to match it.

i am just going to brush on some gelcoat to give the wrap something to stick to. the wrap will last longer if it has a hard glossy surface to stick to. sanded fiberglass is not the best for sticking a wrap on. so two coats of gel coat should help. as far as a color scheme i am not sure yet. something up to date a racey...

forgive me for a dumb question, but with the fuel tank on the one side, when it's full, are you at all worried about it leaning in the water to one side??

I figure if its full of gas it will most likely have a driver in it so i am trying to get some of the weight to the other side. If i balance the weight then when i am in it it will lean to the driver side. i figure 8 gallons of gas will weight about 50 lbs and not be that big of a deal. it will probably still lean toward my side with the fuel tank on one side. when i get out it mmight lean toward the passenger side but then i dont really care.

Ya I think when it's done it is going to have a very cool and unique look to it! I like your power plant and jet set up!
