Default state of the art GPS ??

So on my second pass this weekend my passenger seat flipped up and my Garmin "etrex" GPS I've had for years went MIA, I've taken the boat apart looking but suspect its at the bottom of San Antonio whats everybody got , never liked the acess to the "high speed reached feature" on the etrex must be something better/newer out there? Tom

I liked the yellow eTrex for ease of use, the blue Legend was a PIA, more for hiking and such.

I downloaded the "Speedometer" app on my iPhone . I have compared it to another gps device and the truck speedo and it was right on the money. I have gps'd the yellow Advantage with it and it worked great.

I have the "speedtracker" app on my iphone, not much of a fan, maybe its our Okie reception, on the road is good, but on the water its all over the place, didnt like quick acceleration.

Tom I use a Garmin Nuvi, I have the 500, its waterproof, and can be used with the suction cup mount or carried as a hand held, batteries are built in and rechargeable.
Or you can use the cig adapter.
Its also a nav unit loaded with north american maps so its great for your car too
