So We are planning on going down and camping at Twin Palms, for the the weekend, Fri-Mon. I was just wondering about experiances there. We will be tent camping. what are the sites like? How is the camp ground in general, Launching, store, and most important, I hear there is a beer bar. Tell me what its like....Hal

I'm not here for a long time, I'm just here for a good time!

The ramp sucks, but I did it with a 26' motorhome. the camping is nice, has a nice beach and if you get one of the river front spots, its about the only ones on that stretch of the river to camp. Bathrooms? Beer bar? Store? didn't use any of them. can't help you there. I dont think they allow dogs?, so we don't go there anymore.

i have a place at aha quin and when friends come up they stay at twin palms in there rigs, seems like a nice place and the only river front camping in the area. plus the sandbar is right up the river.

I would not call it much of a store or a bar. LOL. You can get ice and a few items.

Beach is not bad. I use 1/2 a brain to launch so ramp is not that bad. Its in the current and you need some skill, but its useable.

There is power for the RV.

    Id stay again.

Hope you have an air conditioner for that tent. Nice place. Not really a bar compared to Aha. No dogs is also a problem for me.

I spent the weekend of the CP regatta at TP resort and I really have to say their ramp is good! (sorry for your experience bowler Bob) the beach is the shit!! The store is air conditioned with a shitter! (also the shit!!!) their coolers in the store are ice cold! ( definitely a good thing) the local to aha is a toads hop up river! Only downfall to the water front lots is.......I had the butter up the side of the RV to fit into a cabana spot! #8 is by far the tightest spot for a 36' Fleetwood Mhome! Other than that, tent camping sucks everywhere other that Yosemite during the summer, then there's bears and Mosquitos! So have a hell of a time! Say hello to Arnold and his boys for me!

I'm sure you will be fine out there. to me, the worst day of camping is better than the best day of work. I actually was there yesterday, I did a day trip. water was low, I went up to water wheel and back, I could only find one other boat on the water. weather is not the worst thing in the world as long as you go prepared. no bar, its ghetto but that's how most people like it. its not Vegas, that's for sure. don't expect much but a great river and a sunburn.

I really liked the place because you camp right on the water. see the boat and kids at all times. about the only place on that stretch. It was the camp site I was looking for. Just wish they would allow dogs. one would be in the water the entire time and play with every camper on the beach and the other one in the moho.
