    Default Gauges???

Just wondering which gauges everyone thinks are most important. I normally ran 2 on the race boat Oil psi & Boost ... but no longer have a blower and have 3 gauge holes.

    I'm thinking, Oil psi/Water Temp/and ???

The third is questionable, fuel pressure maybe?

    Thoughts anyone?

Busby....if you are only putting 3 guages in, the most important are Oil Press, Fuel Press and Water Temp. Are you not running a Tach?? I also run Water Pressure and a Volt Meter because those holes were already in the dash. The only other guage I would consider would be Oil Temp.

Tach's are for wussy's Just run it ... right?

During testing, I will put one in, but do I really need it after it's set up? not really.

I plan on having data accusition sooner or later anyways ... it'll give me everything I need then

I've been going back and forth on oil temp vs. fuel pressure

I've also been going back and forth on weather or not to run alcohol vs. gas in the motor (I've got 22 gallons of tank sapce right? )

Right...I forgot a pro like yourself can guage RPM just by the sound. I'd go with the Fuel Press.

I think water temp is important, but more important than water temp is oil temp. Water temp can be deceiving as to the actual temperature you engine is running at. I have too many gauge holes in my boat, so to use up my extra two holes i am going to run block pressure and oil temp.

Water temp oil presser and oil temp, Im like you who needs a tach, I have highy tuned ears.... im running oil pres. water temp and volts in the dash and oil temp on the stringer. I run a fuel resuure gauge on the reg, but might switch out the volts for a fuel presure when the bottle goes in.

water pressure (for the engine), oil pressure, fuel pressure..........

lose any of those and either the motor is toast and/or you're going swimming.

That's the way my race boat was ... everything was on the motor that I needed. If it had an issue, it was too late anyways
