    Default Battery pics

I'm redoing my single battery and cables and just looking for some ideas. Thinking about running an ON/OFF switch but thinking it might not beneficial. Also I have about 15 ft extra of 1/0 wire, is this sufficient for cables? My battery is up under the transom so those of you who have it there pics much appericated.

    Thx

Below are pics of how I did mine. Made a simple tray with platform for the perko switch. All hidden under the back seat.

I would add a master on/off. Ive walked out in my shop before and my fuel pump and bielge pump where on. Water got the toggle wet earlier that day. If i had a master kill it wouldnt have done that

Do you mean 1/0 cable? If so that will work fine. I don't have a pic, but always try to go as short as possible on the pos cable to the starter and to your 12v power feed to the rest of your system. The longer the run the more voltage drop and the higher resistance in the circuit.

Yes it would be 1/0 cable. The PWR and GND runs are short less than 2 ft. I was looking for just clean install pics of those of you running batteries up under the transom.

For cheap cable go to your local welding supply.

Those switches are obsolete. Use one of these simple battery mount ones instead. A lot cheaper ($6.00), no holes to drill, no cable needed, no switch mechanism to fail, no key to lose, and more current because of less resistance.
