    Default American turbine trim unit

I have just about received my American Turbine trim unit from the US. Just wondering does the reverse system on these work ok or does the duct that hangs below the nozzle affect steering and performance. It appears that the duct may drag in the water a bit. Has anyone had any experience with one of these units? Thanks

I run one. The reverse works well but I didnt care for it because like you said, I certainly believe that it would cause a little drag, so I cut mine off. My reverse doesnt work worth a damn now, its really more like a neutral. But the nozzle works fine like this and the boat will run over 130 very easy. If this is a lake boat that really needs a reverse and not concerned about every last mph then you might leave it as is. JMO. This is how I did mine.

Hey thanks for that info. So you reckon I should just try it and see how it goes before I cut it up and sort a different reverse? Did it make your steering hard when you had the duct on there?

I would try it first before cutting. No. the steering was fine, and to tell you the truth I cant say that i noticed any diff. after cutting it , except my reverse doesnt work quite as well.
