    Default pump help

What impeller would you all recommend for a berk behind a 460 ford over 500 horses? right now it has a B, but will redline instantly when you mash it. I need to move more water at lower rpm. Looking here: http://www.berkeleyjet.com/Instructi...eller_info.pdf It looks like I need an A2 or A3.

What RPM does it settle down to after the initial flash? How heavy is the boat? Does it run good at WOT if you ease into it? What grate or loader do you have in the intake? We need a little information here to help you.

It never settles...planes out somewhere around 3000 r's, but will hit 6500 or higher and stay. My old pump is probably wore out (the rest of the boat was). Just want to make use of the hp I have. It has no loader, just a grate. I pulled the pump apart last year, everything looked brand new. That doesn't mean the wear ring wasn't out of whack.

Sounds like u have a bad case cavitation. Has very little to do with your impeller cut. I would stick with a B cut, but u need a rebuild for starters

pump overhaul ordered. Also ordered an A impeller. Figured the worst thing that will happen is I run out of horses... then I could tell the wife I need a stroker kit.
