    Default Fast Jet....so?

Ok, lets say we put a capsule in a low 7 sec jet (in the 1/4) what would it do in the 1000ft, would it be a TFJ record contender?

Any update on the TFJ's out there now, there was a thread in 09' talking about a dual jet drive blown boat?

granted that a capsules weigh alot (dont know exactly weight, someone here will)

is it more fun and exciting to run as quick as u can without all the bs and stay under 140 mph?

Just was watching Spirit of America's passes last year, Did they ever put the nitro to it? Fastest Pass?

Yea they put some nitro in it. I don't remember exactly but I think they ran around 5.70 1000' with it.

You cant go for a TFJ record unless the boat meets spec for TFJ.

If you put a capsule in a jet you have the choice of Promod, TFJ or possibly one of the old PCE classes that they might still recognize the engine specs for.

The only way to not be limited by an ET or MPH is run with the TAF's

Ron, I think they got the Spirit of America TAJ to run 5.48 once this year. That puts them right there about 2 1/2 tenths off of the TAF record. So they are close. I think this year it will get into the .30s. It is the worlds quickest and fastest.

I dont know about jets that can go sub 7. But i can tell you alittle bit about a hydro. My uncle had the Stardust Sanger 5 rib hydro, I crewed for him until he got out, then i bought his motor stuck it in my hydro with the same same minus i went down 3 teeth on the top pulley hoping to compensate for the weight difference. Didnt work out. He ran a 7.45 with 14# of boost with 54 gears, Takes me 25# to make an 8 sec run with 79s. I know the gears and prop change alot but if he was running the same tune on the same motor in his boat and he wouldve been in the low 6s. Fire away!!!

Just curious what the experts think

With all the debacle of fastest, quickest, turbos, and nos.

Wish I had the jelly beans and time, and I would maybe try

Fastest and quickest jet is very questionable, IMO...my numbers may be off but with in the jets goin low 7s in the quarter, what are the 1000ft times?
Quickest and fastest TFJ...only one racing

And absolutely no discredit to the spirit of America boat owner or crew, they are great guys, and definite respect for what they are doing.

Would love to have some 54s, but when your running old school fuel shit, parts are hard to come by, esp. 30 spline top gear 10 bottom sets lower than the 2.00 rtange.

as mug said, soa ran 5.48 in 1000' last year at san diego. it did have a bit of nitro in it. don't know if they were at 50% or not (max limit), but it did sound gnarly leaving the rope. turning somewhere around 11million rpm.

a few years ago, kirkman was routinely running 3.82-3.83 1/8, then 6.82-6.83 in the 1/4. that was on alky, no nitro. based on what i was doing at the time and my data, those sensors were pretty much right on, so i do believe the numbers. cdba didn't have 1000' sensors up, so don't know what those numbers would be. if sleeper were in here, he could probably come up with a few graphs and charts...

does anyone know if blown fever is coming back out? that hull was looking really good last time i saw it...
