    Default Droop or no droop?

My dads got a 18ft eliminator bubble deck jet. We were planning on putting a diverter and ride plate but we've heard that some boats porpus even worse if they have a droop installed. Is there anyway to know if i dont need a droop?

Run it without and find out. Not all boats run better with a droop. It all depends on a lot of factors.

True he could simply "buy one"...and (if) he finds out it doesn't work, someone will offer him 1/2 because after all...it is used.

Where are you located? The group we have here in Phoenix swaps parts around regularly to find out what works and what doesn't for their particular application.

I'm swapping a short droop for a straight snoot with a buddy this week and he's going to try my straight snoot that is longer than the one he is currently using. It's the ultimate try (without having to buy). We swap shoes and shims, loaders, snoots n droops etc. all the time in an effort to optimize our setups.

My Eliminator has a droop. The boat used to porpus like crazy untill I took pretty much all the wedge out and adjusted the ride plate. It was all out of whack when I bought it. Its dialed now but it sure a headache for awhile. Im thinking it would ride even better if I took out the droop.
    hope this helps

Ya it will sometimes porpus like if i nail it from a dead stop it will porpus a litttle but if your cruisin at a constant speed it wont porpus only if you give that sudden throttle then it starts to porpus. I talked to a guy at jet boat performance and i learned a little bit but im still confused what kinda pump i have. If i had pictures i would post them but i dont know if its a split bowl or not. I just know its by berkley.

Do you have a ride plate? Try ajusting it down a degree or two if you do.
