Default Anyone with a Classic 21 Daytona on Competitive trailer

How are the inner fenders made? I thought it was just a flat piece of ply wrapped in carpet bolted to the back of the fender. If tried that but the wood is dangerously close to the tire.

Not on ours. It's a flat piece of wood but angled at the bottom towards the boat. 3 bolts at the top of the fender and then 2 at the bottom that bolt to a couple tabs welded to the trailer. I would show you but this trailer is so damn ugly you would laugh.....

Thanks John. I can picture what you are saying. Mine only has one tab in the middle of the bottom and 5 holes around the fender. No holes in the tab for a bolt. The wood was missing when I bought the boat. Guess I will drill a hole in the one tab and do it that way. My trailer is pretty hammered as well.

My 1983 21 Daytona sits on a 1983 Competitive trailer.
The fenders are molded fiberglass that bolt to the trailer rails.
The inner/boat side is a section of pressure treated plywood with foam padding and wrapped in heavy vinyl.
Few years back I removed and rebuilt them, I can post pics if needed.

Thanks HD. My fenders are chrome. If you get a chance I would like to see pics. No hurry. Maybe it will give me some other ideas.

This is how mine came, I like that they won't 'rust' and have steps built-in.

my 84 chrome fenders suck on mine. like 3 or 4 small bolt across the top is about all that holds them in. they are going to be done different.

    Mine had 1/4" plywood
Swapped it out for a 3 layer thick
Fiberglass panel and used button head
    Bolts under the carpet

    Such a showoff!!!

How do you like having them vertical on your setup Paul? I like it much better than the way they're mounted on mine.

    That's the way they were
    Just changed to Fiberglas
Actually building a new set since I gotta new wheels I had to move the fenders
Out and up just a tad, now the old ones
    Don't fit

Outlaw that looks great. If I did mine that way I am pretty sure they would rub the back of the tires.

Sleek, I like the idea of fiberglass fenders. Guess I need to look a little closer at mine before I decide how to proceed.
