    Default Help on oil filter

My friend has a Hallett jet boat with a 460 , how do I change the oil filter , the filter is right next to the stringer that you cant turn it off or get a new one back in to replace the old one. what can I do to fix this ?

if theres about a 1/4 in between the stringer and base of the filter you can likely loosen wrangle it out if there (put down rags or towels for the spillage ) when you go back use the shorter version of the ford filter, although we don't use fram the fram number as I recall is a PH43 wirse case scenario you may have to loosen and pickup on the left front corner of the engine a bit .Tom

When I do mine I also put a ziplock baggie over the filter before I unscrew it, it will catch most of the oil and once you get it free you can seal the bag up before navigating it around other obstacles before its all the way out.
