I have an isky 280 mega cam but the problem is they told me I didn't need springs and im finding out I do as well as, tell me if im wrong but hardened push rods and the valve guides getting machined down.... if this cam is really worth all the hassle I will do it but if there is something you guys think would work better with my set up or comparable with out all the hassel let me know thank you in advance a 73 but i thin b, an

Jet? Exhaust? Thru transom or over? Intended use? And valve size in 049 s ??? I would keep it below 10 to 1 if you plan on running pump gas. These are the questions cam company's need, and FYI 049 heads are typically 119 cc unless they have been milled.

sorry yes it is a jet with an a-2 impeller and im running logs with over transom. I have read people saying many different cc sizes for the 049 that's why I am saying I know I will be somewere in the 9:1 - 10:1 range the max should be 9.9:1 and I gave isky all that info and they sent me the 280 mega but im wouldering what u guys think of that and if it is really worth all the extra money and hassle to put it into my setup cause it looks like I will have to machine the valve guides and install hardened push rods and heavier valve springs
