    Default Considering Petronix or Accel???

For my stock Ford 460 in a Spectra 20 (about 450 hours). The distributor is a vacuum advance single point. So, should I get the original igintor or the ignitor II, or stick to points. I read the posts with both good and bad comments, I am willing to try it. The boat is used for skiing and cruising, about 4000 RPM max.

Also, what spark plugs and wires do you guys recommend.

    Thanks in advance!

OK, I went to the store and found another unit - the Accel - as far as I can see it is similar to the petronix, but uses it's own rotor in the distributor. It is cheaper than the Ignitor II at only $70 vs. $119.

    Your thoughts and insight.

    Thanks again.

I've run them both, and other than the II not frying if the key's left on, you won't notice much difference.

    Default Accel - points eliminator?

I edited my post, but just in case, I went to the store and found another similar unit made by Accel. The only difference I could see is that it uses it's own rotor.

    Your insight???

    Thanks again.

I've got two of the pertronix units, a mallory dist. for a BBF and a hi-output coil that are one-season used, but I'd sell them if you would be interested.
I have two pertronix because I always carried a spare.

    Replaced it with MSD.
