Very nice!!!!!! Those are seats from Skip, aren't they? Are they as nice as they look?

I've also spent my entire Labor Day weekend working on the boat, so you're not alone.

    Good luck.

Well, I've been saying it for 3 days now, but it should be wet tomorrow. I've got my old mechanic, who moved to CT, coming out to check it out and get her going, so we can dump it in the river!!!! Should just be some timing adjustments and carb tuning. His dad also used to own the boat, so he knows the boat really well. Just wish I had some of those snazzy seats from Skip in my sled.

Everything I've got is in my "Hawaiians!!" thread, only problem is that it is now 38 pages long and over 1100 posts right now, so it is a big read. The boat still looks like crap, but it should run. I'll make it look good after it runs.

    Good luck on yours.

The boat looks awesome! You have lots of room in that thing. I especially like the red with flames ,on the inside of the dash and sides...Hal

I'm not here for a long time, I'm just here for a good time!
If your not on the edge.......your taking up too much room......Drive it like you stole it!

thanks , I took it to the guy who painted the rest of it for me , and told him just have some fun with it , and that is what i got back , i was suprised but in a good way , I would have never thought to use red , or really any other color other than blue , so im glad he did what he did , it turned out really nice , and alot different than it would have if i would have done it my way , now i have to drop it off at the pinstriper on thursday , he is going to stripe every thing in red to tie the rest of the boat into the interior , thanks for the complements , its been alot of hard work for almost a year now , and way more money than i thought i could have spent on that old boat but its starting to look like something now ,,,,, in my opinion not too bad for a guy with a two car garage and a drive way lol

You've done everything else on your own, you should do the paint job yourself too.

not at all , it actually didn't really cost me that much ,my real good friends father is an old hot rod painter , and he did it for me , but he made me do all the sanding , and prep , witch was fine because i like to help , ,i spent a lot of time sanding down the paint someone put over the old gel coat stripes, i have a couple of pics of the sanding process , ill post up next any way if your are at all interested i know he would like to paint another jet boat , although he is in northern California ,
the top of the boat still hasn't been color sanded and polished yet , we are going to get that this winter I'm sure .
so to answer your question , it cost me about 600 dollars in materials and a bunch of time sanding , so if you have any skills at all you should be able to do it your self , remember it is all in the prep , you could be the best sprayer in the world , with one of those 1000,000.00 booths and if you skimp on the prep it will look like shit , just take your time and make sure its smooth before you spray color
