    Default exhaust tips

    installing ot's on the motor,and can't get the exhaust tips of. they must have been glued on. whats the best way to seal them up?

    Tom at Jet Boat Performance sells billet covers that work really well, to get them off pull the screws and then you can just cut the silicon around the edges and gently pry them off. the new ones from Tom have two sides and they just bolt together and sandwich the hull and cover the hull, they are very clean and easy..well worth the coin IMO...

    One way is to use a rubber pipe cap. Available online or at your local plumbing store, Lowes or Home Depot.

    steve, what do you mean your installing over transom headers? we put them on the day i sat the motor in, ya gots me confused are you taking off the headers and putting logs on?

    oohh, i thought about it for a minute and you must be working on andy's sj tell him a walmart bag and some duct tape will work fine

    Those tips can be a PITA to remove. Cut as much of the silicone as possible. I tapped away at mine with a hammer and block of wood while bracing my legs against the transom. They finally did come out without me damaging anything else...
