Keep the headers, you can keep the boat quieter at idle if the dumps are below the water line. 21's look clean with the through transom headers anyway.

Fwiw he told me that he had some questions about putting a jet,in a boat with a flat keel. I told him to look up Tom @ Jbp, or Greg.

Yea Buddy!! Jet's are the shit! I am glad too here you are putting a jet in that 21MTR. I finished rigging mine with the new 565 Blower motor and rebuilt Jet. If that jet you bought does not have a inducer ,get one. These boats are a little heavy and need a little push out of the hole. Tony Skagen set up my pump this year and machined the shaft for a inducer and put in a tripple A impeller. The boat leaves really hard out of the hole, but with the inducer in it should leave like a 19ft tunnel. I am running the same headers and love them. They are still loud when your in it ,but you can have a conversation at idle. I would like to eventualy replace them with the stainless jackted lightning headers. If every thing goes right I will be having Skagen boats flip the boat this winter and drop the center pod and install a bubble. I will keep you posted on the benifits. I attached some pics of the new monster. And by the way don't listen to that guy saying 1000hp jet's only do 85mph. My Cougar is well into the tripple digits now. The bottom work will help keep the pump loaded at the top end. I also have another buddy that has a 21MTR with a 502 BBC Blown /jet . I will post some pic's of his ride as well later. If you need any measurements or anything feel free to pm me.

I have talked with Duane @HTP about doing bottom work(since he built my pump) and setting an intake. The pump does have an inducer and a ss hi-helux a cut.If I ever get off my azz and get my trailer finished I can get it out to Duane.

Tell me more about the bottom mods. A spoon right in front of the intake or a spoon and a handle?
