Default NJBA Pit and Camping Fees. WTF???

So I show up Sat. afternoon with the travel trailer, pay to park in the pits and two days worth of admission. Total of $70. So I meet Steve and his family from the 509 crew (very nice people). Then I have some guy from NJBA come over and start taking info from my camping trailer. So I go see what he wants. He tells me it's going to cost me another $80 to stay the night. I asked what the hell is was talking about. He tells me that is what Kern County charges to camp at Lake Ming. I was a little pissed, but not to cause a scene I write the check. What a crock of Sht. No where can I find that lake Ming charges $80/night to camp in a dirt parking lot with no water or electrical hook ups. From what I found on Lake Mings site it's $22/night to camp. So for $150 bucks I got to watch 1/2 day of qualifying and one day of racing, no schedule or anything from NJBA. What a rip off. It's no surprise attendance is low, and this will be my first and last trip to an NJBA event.

It is $80 for the whole weekend. The breakdown is $50 for the car pass, $15 a night for staying. If you had already payed for the car pass you should have been charged just the extra $30. I've been doing it for a while and just get hit for $80 as I get a wristband from who I help out.

I just got off the phone with Kern County Parks and Rec.'s. They told me it was $22/night to camp at the Lake Ming camp ground up the hill. She said they have a contract with NJBA, for the use of the facilities at the lake. She said they have a separate camping fee negotiated for the infield, which is nowhere near the extra $80 I was charged.

No vehicle entry fee. (stated above pretty clearly)

From what part of the fee's? Entry fee's or the extortion money I had to pay to stay the night? That is not what Kern County told me on the phone about an hour ago.

i was there on sunday to check out the camping set up for the oct. race. i was told very clearly by the women at the front gate that is was $50.00 for the rig and $15 per day to camp. there was some sort of discount for the tow vecicle if i was with a race team - i'm not so i didn't pay attention to that part.

As part of the NJBA race entry fee, each team pays for a tow vehicle to be in the pits. Any other additional vehicle in the pits is 50.00, weather with a team or not. If you don't want to park across the street for free, then you pay 50.00 to park inside the gates. (Most other venues will charge for general parking.)
If you stay over night, you're camping, and Kern Co. will charge you a camping fee. You could go one minute down the road and be in a camp ground with the hook-ups and amenities for the same price. To Kern Co., camping is camping...it's your choice to stay where there's no hookups.

I could care less about camping in the dirt. That's not the point. The point is this. Get there Sat afternoon and get charged $150. That's the issue.

i will publicly apologise to edog for the mistake that was made in the RV/camping fee, he was it seems over charged, sorry.
i have pm'd him with how we break down the charges, 50.00 parking pass, 30.00 camping and what ever the spectator fee may be on top of that.
NJBA wknd fee is 25.00, or sat. 12.00 and sun. 15.00
If you are a racer things are a little different.
i personlly collected the majority of jet boat land and all are ok with what we charge, i have no problem explaining who, what and where the monies go.
If anyone has a question about the fee's, please feel free to contact or pm me any time.

    thank you. Tom
