we need to relocate it steve. when you bring it up for the pump work, we'll build a new set-up while the motor is out and on the stand. its easy peasy that way need to set it up so it has a shorter belt.

A stock car pulley is usually 3:1 (crank pulley is 3X the size of the alt. pulley and spins the alternator 3X faster than the engine). However car engines spin at a much slower RPM than jet boats do. So we usually underdrive them 2:1. (crank pulley 2X the size of the alternator pulley and spins the alternator 2X faster than the engine).

Plowmans deal is not this weekend, but the next. Always the first weekend of October. You could very well get your boat sold there too, lotsa $$$ floatin around that place coupled with cove racing going on all day? Gotta think of those impulse buyers, lol..... Some serious hardware out of OK was there last year....

    Right on the money.

I'd say one to one with the pulleys or a direct drive?

    Cool

I run a 5-inch diameter underdrive alternator pulley on my 460, got it from Summit. Battery voltage is still way up there, too, so underdrive the alternator and save the alt. bearings and reduce hp drag.

I think that this is the one that I bought:

I run a GM alternator but the pulley supposed to fit both Ford and GM. Check pulley alignment after installation.
