    Default can we clear up...

the deal on a CP Tunnel? a buddy of my dad had one back when i was a kid and i had seen him get pitched out a few times, most of the older yuma boys will know who i'm talking about. i was told it was because upon re-entry you couldn't tell which way it was going to hook- or if it would even hook at all! i may be way off but i saw this one http://dragboats.com/classifieds/picture_detail.php?AdID=3505
on dragboats.com and didnt know if it was the way this gentleman had it set up back in the early 90's or if they were all that way.. thank in advance, just a curious lad! haha

I've heard that is the result of going fast in a Texas-git-wet, errr... Texas Tunnel. You've either been thrown, or are going to be.

Never heard of it as a quirk to any others.

Jerry Hick's & Tom Bandy's are tunnels as well, if they're set up right, they'll shut down right. MPD has new sponson pads that help in high speed shut downs.

They are cool looking boats. One thing I was always curious about is why some of them have notched sponsons, and some do not. Is this a change that's made or are they laid up that way from the start?

me and hass both have personally seen that same boat you linked too hook hard to the lh and almost take out the guy in the other lane, it ended up on the shore. our mouths were dropped at how close it missed the transom of the other boat. i'm 100% positive its the same boat in the link.go to the youngblood site and look under "outings" and under the 4th july 08 pics, its there, i was behind him at the start lane that sunday of the 4th weekend.

Thanks Steve. Amazing that someone would come up with such a huge modification. It must've been interesting the first few test sessions. Seems like it would take a pretty big set of huevos to get in for a first time run.

exactly! he was making 100+ passes in our cove and coming outta the cove can be rough, that's where it hooked and turned a 100mph sharp lh, it was skeeeery looking to say the least. ya didn't see anyone line up with him much for the rest of this past summer
my uncle had a wolfer cp tunnel and it'd do strange things even with a small block in it from time to time. the deck split in 2 once goin across the lake , folded over and slapped him in the head he made it back to the trailer, sold it after he'd fixed it

THIS BOAT IS A KICK ASS RACE BOAT!! JUST LIKE ANY OTHER RACE BOAT YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO DRIVE THEM!! PRACTICE AND GET USE TO HOW THEY REACT TO DIFFERENT SITUATIONS!! LEARN HOW TO SHUT THEM DOWN!! ONCE YOU DO YOU WILL NEVER GO BACK TO ANY OTHER JET BOAT FOR RACING!!I WAS PITCHED OUT OF THIS ONE AT 105 AND CAME OUT CLEAN!!ITS A RACE BOAT PERIOD NOT FOR THE RIVER OR LAKE!! JUST LIKE THE REST OF US RICK MOORE IS LEARNING HOW TO DRIVE A CP TUNNEL HE WILL GET IT IM SURE!!!
