Back in the Day when I owned a 21ft tunnel with a Merc OB it was held in "Speed Alley" at the mouth of Lake Havasu and the Colorado river.
It was "kind of" a cool event but hardly any cool races, just a bunch of whackers hanging out talking about there motors spin 10k !

Outboards are the import crowd of the water. Good on gas mileage, cool in a couple ways, but cooler to observed than owned.

That gathering has been going on for quite a few years.

Yea pretty much, I cant complain much though, I had a stock Merc 225hp 2.5, boat did 85mph plus on GPS, not too bad for 225hp! Talk about a "turn key" boat, never one issue for the 2yrs I owned it and I would run that focker for over 5mins straight WOT never lifting!
