Default Thinking of going from jacuzzi to berk 12jc

Pump. How hard is this swap to do? Will I need to do any glass work? I have a worn out Jacuzzi WJ - B in my jet now. I just picked up a Berkley 12JC-A . Both pumps have a place diverter. My motor is a BBC with about 450 -500 HP. Thanks

The "cut out" for the Wj (existing hole) is slightly smaller than the Berk intake size , so the swap is fairly straight forward . Steer cable should work , fwd reverse will not (33 vs 43 series needed ) The Berk "A" should work well with your motor to start . Call or post or Email if we can help we have pics and tutorials if you need help Tom

I did a Jacuzzi to Berk swap. Like Tom said hole is smaller,so all is required is a little trim and fill some holes,if locating in the stock location. I did a set back, therefore I glassed in the entire hole and then recut the hole, just becouse I did not want to have to add a piece of metal to close up the front part of the hole. I'd say the hardest thing is pulling the intake and even that is not that hard.
If You do do it and have ever considered doing a set back ,now would be the time to do it.

Thanks all, I'm still kicking this project around. Not sure what I'm feeling up to at this minute. Life's been a little crazy around here the past few years.

Thanks for the info. Funny you bring up the fishing on the bayou, They have been knocking them out from the banks. My brother in law filled up an 96 qt. ice chest in 1 hour today at lunch. Guess what's for dinner?

I have seen several YJ swaps to berkley with and adapter plate. I know Brad at River Speed and Sport in Blythe Ca. has done a few and had a template for the adapter at one time. His work # is 760-922-6868
