Default So a guy walks into a forum...

    Hey All,
New guy here. I've been reading up on some posts and this looks like a great place to start my new adventure with my family, jet boats! We have already done the classic restoration thing (back in my 20's, won't do that again), desert motorsports, and now I'm ready to be that old, fat, tan guy with a bad ass boat the kids can brag about...the boat, brag about the boat, not fat tan dad, lol

It's great to see there is a healthy mix of extremes here, just like any other mechanical thing that spins & whirls...man will always be fascinated and have some better idea than the other guy (I tend to go with the longevity wins crowd).

I look forward to reading up on this new venture of mine and conquering another platform that holds an engine!

Oh yeah, so I have about $8k (and a nice 4 seat off-road car if someone is looking for a trade, $10k value)...I was thinking Eliminator for the platform, Berkley for the pump, and would like to stay with a Chevy power plant...I don't mind sweat equity, but I am 45, not 25 and my days on the water are more valuable than in the shop anymore.
See ya in the funny pages,
    Chris, Oceanside, CA

    Welcome to the boards.
What kind of jet boat are you looking for? Cruisers can be bad ass. Are you looking for just a hot rod or a somewhat practical hot rod?
Lots of hull styles to choose from. 8-10k should get you a pretty nice boat.
Let us know what you're looking for and someone should steer you in the right direction.
    Good luck

    Default Type of Boat

Here is a link to a boat I like...fitting that into my budget is not a problem on my part....however the selling might not agree, lol....

2000 Ultra Stealth 21 Open Bow Jet

I have a list of Have To's but they are just small things.

What I need to read up on are: hulls types, designs vs. performance

And anything else you guys want to ad..

That's quite a swing in boats. The Ultra is nice but a bit pricy IMO. The Eliminator looks like it probably needs a little work. Ck the IE Craigslist, there was a couple nice daycruiser's in the 7500 range comparable to the Ultra in the add.

    Default Team Hawaiian??

Does anyone know about the Team Hawaiian boats? This is exactly what I am looking for. I have come to terms (with myself) that I need to get as much boat as I can possibly afford now and not dick around with $1k here, another $500 there....PLUS, I was in the Navy for 20 years, so now I get to be the Skipper of my own junk!

Little Mrs. Muffet sat on her tuffet eating her curds and way... Along came a spider and sat down beside her and he said "Hey!! What's in the bowl bitch"..

IMHO Look at a 21' Daytona Eliminator... Tunnel hull rides nice, makes great use of power, and will handle wake and rough water better than a V'hull. If you want a little more room and higher sides look at either 22' Cougar tunnel or the 23' Eliminator...
