    Default Berkeley Suction Housing Differences?

I have a 12ja pump, wanting to know the difference between it and other suction housings.

Early A pumps (and some B's) use a different bearing cap, different length shaft , have no suction seal behind the bearing , pronounced cast spine on the inside of the suction , the water port is larger than later and at a different angle A suctions can be refitted with parts from others and succesfully modified with improvments , if you look at the now infamous "video of a pump overhaul thread" on this page the jet the "videographer" is working on is an A ... Suspect that intake is every bit as strong as its later brothers , the most glaring difference is the lack of a seal aft of the bearing (in the suction) which could be used as is or the suction could be machine and seal slinger upgraded , "as is" would not support a jetaway for example Tom
