That is an early Prestolite top mount RR deal , word of caution ,most common mistake is when a customer has a starter problem , takes that starter to Pep boys or Oriellys etc ? and they "match it up" ... when that "supplied starter" is installed suddenly theres a "no start" , the supplied starter actually will spin the engine backwards ... check your pms Tom

That starter is a tank, I have one and it is worth it's weight.
If you need it rebuilt take to a place that rebuilt starters. As mentioned above the wrong top mount will spin the engine the wrong way. It may look the same but it's a reverse spin.
Again...that is a very good starter!

I didn't realize it was such a good starter it was on the boat when I bought three years ago. It started dragging and barely starting even with a full battery. Ill watch out for the ones that spin that spin the wrong way. Thanks for the info!

I bought a Hi-Torq top mount from Tommy for a good price. Worked a lot better than the Presto-Lite I had rebuilt a few times.
