    Default Tach not working...

I just installed my new motor and and msd 6m with the soft touch rev limiter. The tach is no longer working and from the wiring diagram it shows the grey wire is the tach. The boat originally had the gm hei, did i miss something somewhere any input would be great.

Did you hook the tach up to the coil or the grey wire on the box?

You probably need the tach adapter from msd.

That's what I was afraid of. You can try the tach adapter, but there is a chance it will still not work. Might have to look into a Autometer or something along those lines.
