    Default Ride plate

Is it possible to run a ride plate without a shoe and see and gains?

Depends on what the hull wants. The shoe is what you attach the plate to unless you go with the place diverter droop with bolt on plate. You may see see better handling characteristic with just the plate. Imho, do it once and do it right.

Please elaborate , are you referring to a Place Diverter type "bolt on" plate at the base of the hull/transom or employing/adding a clandestine piece aft of the rear intake "shoe" area of the intake , more details are helpful ? what jet ? is the jet in a standard position or set back ? Tom

The cheap way to go about it would be to get the ARS "Bolt on" ride plate-shoe deal, that's what I did on my Bahner and seamed to work well with it, I'm sure not as efficient as the real deal but I bet would help.
I had a Liberator as well, just like yours, I loved that boat "potato chip" had a Merc 225hp outboard and went low 90's.

I too would like a ride plate but don't want to rip out my intake . I've heard good and bad about this plate . I would love to see a couple of pics if you could blender over . how it mounts to the intake and bowl. Thanks
