    Default 1969 Rogers build

Hey been a member a while just realized i never posted my build over here. This is my first boat build and first jet boat. So i will have many questions along the way.

This will be a somewhat slow process as i do not have buckets of money to throw at it, but my goal is to have it floating by end of this year maybe sooner.

Here is what I started with.

Next thing i tackled was flipping it and starting on the sides/bottom

Quickly learned that not all primers play along nicely

So while i was fuming at my primer fiasco i painted the trailer, i dont plan to keep this trailer but it will work in the mean time

Next time to lay some color. For the paint i went with a Single Stage Urethane called LIC 50. This is an "industrial" paint that i have used before, it dries nice and hard and is pretty thick. Also colorsands and buffs pretty well

Now for the color for the sides, the boat will be Orange. I sprayed a White single stage "base coat" to make the Orange pop more

And did some color sanding and buffing

Looking good Steve! Is the top going to be Orange too? If you are going Mopar you might as well do some Challenger stripes! Or maybe a General Lee version with a Dixie horn! Need some updates!

    Thanks Scotty!

The top will be mostly black with some orange. I'm not very artistic (can't even draw stick people) so it'll be simple two tone. But I think it'll look nice.

No updates right now. My focus has been turned to getting the Bahner ready for the first river trip this year. (Laughlin this weekend). So I hope to get back to work on the rogers next week sometime. I did take all the nuts off of the intake so I can get it pulled and maybe set it back.

Oh also did some more research when I got home. The title is listed as a 1969 Rogers not a 68. Also the tag is marked as an 18 model.

    Here's a pic
