Default 3 or 4 position ignition switch?

What's the best route regarding your ignition switch? I see a minor advantage of a 4 position switch..is there a disadvantage?

No real disadvantage , just allows for an accessory position wherein your ignition is not energized to operate for example a stereo etc ..
