Default Some terms I am unfamiliar with?

Can someone tell me about some parts I don't know the meaning of?

I assume the loader grate is the covering on the intake?

I have a Place diverter on my Berkeley, so I know what that is.

I do not know what a shoe is, a ride plate or a droop snoot.

    I am curious?

I do not know what a shoe is - I will leave this up to someone more knowledgable than me,

    a ride plate

The metal plate is the ride plate...

not that you asked...but this would be trim tabs or trim plates:

    or a droop snoot.

droop snoot changes the direction of the water by putting an elbow between the pump and the place diverter:
there are both long snoots, short snoots, and even a straight one:

    I am curious?

Great post! These are questions ive had as a new jet boat owner. I would love it for any of you more experienced guys to expand on this with anything that might have been missed.

    Ok, that helps a lot!

What job does the ride plate and the shoe perform?

nevermind, used the link you provided and found the descriptions for myself.

This is so interesting. I have never wanted to boat so much in all my years as I do with this one. I have seen the trim tabs on a few boats, assumed they were for steering or stabilization at high speeds.

Thanks again guys, this is very helpful.
